Plot: An eight-year-old girl is kidnapped leading to the collaborated effort of the girl's grandfather, a police officer and a priest to investigate and rescue the girl.
Review: The movie is an official remake of the Korean thriller, Montage. The movie is dark and edgy, mainly due to the characters and the backdrop. The location of the movie was well-chosen; Kolkata depicts a city with atmospheric patches and iconic bridges to help the audience get familiar with the city, but a true opportunity is missed here since the city could have been utilized a step better.
The characters in the film somewhat lack depth, not providing inner details to the audience for them to invest completely in the story. The movie also misses out on capturing the true potential of the finest actors in the industry, which could have made it far more interesting to watch. However, Amitabh Bachchan provides for the film with convincing portrayal of the missing girl's grandfather, acting as a saving grace in this thriller.
Director Ribhu Dasgupta makes a platform filled with lies and disorders, at the same time attaching motives to his characters. The movie manages to force the audience to stay till the end credits only to reveal the main criminal behind the mess, which come as a surprise. Other than a few missed opportunities, the movie is quite entertaining. Amitabh Bachchan's unmatched acting is a good enough reason to watch this well-paced, restless thriller.
