14 years for The Wife
Six time Academy Award-nominated actor, Glenn Close recently relealed to Hollywood Reporter, that it took her 14 long years to make The Wife, her Oscar-tipped new movie. During a roundtable, the 71-year-old actor said, "It's two women writers, the novelist and screenwriter, and, you know, starring a woman. No one wanted to it and, most of the money, if not all the money, came from Europe." Close further added, playing Joan was "fascinating" for her as she had to get into the skin of the character "without any kind of judgement". The film has been nominated for multiple awards across the United States and the United Kingdom. Jonathan Pryce played the male lead in the film.
