SOLOLEARN - Your Ticket to Coding

Platforms: Android, iOS and Windows

Size: 5.42 MB

Whether you want to learn coding just for fun or to build the next hit app or your own website, installing SoloLearn is a good first step. SoloLearn is more than just an app, it's a community of coders (over "10,000,000 learners") which probably explains why it's so effective and resourceful.

SoloLearn covers the languages – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, C++, Python, Java, Swift and more. Programming concepts are introduced through short texts or instructions and followed by quizzes. The level starts from Basic and goes on to Intermediary and Advanced.

Here's the fun part – you don't only learn coding but can also write your own codes or make changes to existing ones. You can take advantage of the Q&A discussions to improve your concept of coding, clear confusions through the comment sections with the help of fellow coders from around the world, or engage in short coding challenges with others. The "Code Playground" is where you can mess around with codes and get creative – like make a Rock Paper Scissors game using Python, where the result is randomly generated after your input of rock/paper/scissors. You can then experiment with more complex codes as you get better.

Thankfully, it's absolutely free and devoid of annoying ads. There's one minor setback – you have to go to YouTube to view their video tutorials so a decent internet connection is a must, but you can download text tutorials to learn offline. That and their interactive teaching process make SoloLearn definitely worth an install.
