Manifest manifestos
The public have been spoiled for choices while voting in the city elections of Phaka, a city in Island state Riceland.
Tapping into the culture of immediacy, where waiting for anything good or bad is anathema, the mayoral candidates published their manifestos and slogans a day after the polls.
"We thought the voters will forget about the manifestos by the time the elections rolled around," a mayoral frontrunner told reporters on the day the manifestos were published.
"By publishing them a day after the elections, we have kept voters on edge, wondering whether they truly made the right choice. It also helps create long-term vision among the populace if they judge for themselves who to elect without any information whatsoever," he added.
In quite an apt development, the party that won published the slogan early yesterday morning: "Nothing will change".
Manifesto: Pigs can fly.
