Sadakalo's Ekushey Collection


Ekushey February is a day we celebrate our linguistic freedom and commemorate the martyrs of the language movement with the expression of patriotism by joining the ritualistic slow procession, the Probhat Pheri, at the Shahid Minar on the morning of February 21 -- observing a crucial mark on the history of Bangladesh.
The day is dedicated to espousing love for our country and its people by indulging in the spirit of struggle and freedom adorned around black and white; colours that symbolise the struggle and mourning against oppression and the victory of the Bengali nation.
On the occasion of 21 February, Sadakalo is launching its Ekushey Collection comprising of exclusive black and white wear for men, women and children in prints of Bengali alphabets, patriotic quotes, songs, verses and more. Much of the Ekushey Collection has been crafted on cotton for the comfort of their customers, along with options of other fabrics such as silk and half silk.
You will find saris in cotton and half-silk with block prints, screen prints and hand-stitched designs ranging from Tk.1,000-Tk.2,500 and above. Cotton kameezes, dupattas, scarves and kurtis in block and screen prints of Bengali alphabets and rousingly patriotic verses are available at the stores, with prices starting from Tk.1,200.
For the men out there who would like to get a little something for the occasion, Sadakalo has panjabis and fatuas in creative black and white combinations with similar patriotic art priced at Tk.550-Tk.1500.
The Ekushey children's wear collection has saris, dresses, panjabis and fatuas for children, a few particular designs that are available in all sizes for the whole family to wear together.
