Remittance goes up 0.08pc in Feb
Remittance increased by 0.08 percent in February and stood at $1164 million, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB) data released today.
In February last year the amount was $1163 million.
However, it decreased by 7.61 percent in compare to January which saw $1260 million remittance inflow.
A high official of the central bank said the main reason of less remittance inflow was that February had fewer days than the previous month.
In last 22 months, continuously every month remittance worth $1 billion is coming into the country which has helped build a healthy reserve.
On February 25, the reserve was $19 billion.
