Tenth grader raped in Noakhali

A tenth grader was allegedly raped by a youth in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali yesterday evening.

The alleged rapist Abdur Rahim Robin (20), of Sundalpur union, was on the run after the incident, Fazlul Kader, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Kabirhat Police Station told our Noakhali correspondent.

Victim's mother filed a case with the police station on the same night, the OC added.

When her mother went out, Robin went to the victim's house and raped the girl, the police official said.     

Robin ran away when a woman from a neighbouring family entered the house uponhearing screams, he added.

Being informed, the mother of the girl came back and filed a case later that night, the OC said.

Robin harassed the girl several times on her way to school, victim's mother alleged.

The girl was sent to Noakhali Medical College Hospital for medical examination, the police official said.
