United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan Mozena today advised the government to conduct thorough, timely and credible investigations of all alleged human rights violation and abuses.

"I continue to urge the government to conduct thorough, timely and credible investigations of all alleged human rights violation and abuses and to report findings in a transparent manner," he said it at a certificate giving ceremony of the Rapid Action Battalion's internal enquiries cell training programme at its Kurmitola headquarters this afternoon.

He also urged the Rab to fearlessly take the lead in conducting the investigations of alleged abuses of power by its members.

"It is the bad apples that tarnish the reputation of the entire force and all of those who serve honourably," Mozena said.

The internal enquiry cell of the elite force can play critical role in responding to complaints from the public of reported abuses and excess by members of Rab, the US ambassador said.
