Sheikh Hasina, a great inspiration for me: Priyanka Gandhi

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of Indian Congress party, met visiting Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina today.

In a twitter post after the about 30-minute meeting, Priyanka wrote, "An overdue hug from Sheikh Hasina Ji whom I have been waiting to meet again for a long time. Her strength in overcoming deep personal loss and hardship and fighting for what she believed in with bravery and perseverance is, and always will be a great inspiration for me."

Priyanka said Hasina’s strength in overcoming "deep personal loss and hardship (of having lost most of her parents and family members in August 1975, courage and perseverance would "always be a great inspiration" for her.

Priyanka along with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi met Hasina and discussed issues concerning the two countries.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma was also present in the meeting that took place at the hotel where Hasina is staying during her four-day official visit since October 3.

Hasina will return Dhaka tonight.
