No need to deploy army in NCC polls: Ivy

Selina Hayat Ivy, Awami League mayoral candidate in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls, said there is no necessity for army deployment in the mayoral elections in Narayanganj slated for December 22.

Ivy was talking to journalists after submitting her nomination form for contesting in the upcoming NCC polls with AL electoral symbol boat.

She submitted the nomination form to the returning officer of the Election Commission in the district.

Meanwhile, BNP mayoral candidate Shakhawat Hossain also submitted his nomination form to the returning officer this afternoon, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The deadline for submission of nomination papers is November 24 (today), which will be scrutinised on November 26 and 27. And, the last date of withdrawal of nomination is December 4.
