Chief minister of India’s Mizoram to visit Bangladesh in March

Chief Minister of India’s Mizoram Zoramthanga will visit Bangladesh in March to attend an event marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said the state’s Assembly Speaker Lalrinliana Sailo.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited Zoramthanga and other Mizoram ministers to the event, Sailo said at a programme held in Aizawl yesterday, our New Delhi correspondent reports.

Mentioning that the chief minister had recently visited Bangladesh and met Hasina and other officials, Sailo said, "The Bangladesh government wants to strengthen ties with Mizoram."

The speaker further said road connectivity between Tlabung town in Lunglei district and Bangladesh will boost cross-border trade.
