Hours after DNCC ward councillor Tarequzzaman Rajib was arrested on charge of extortion and land grabbing, he was expelled from the post of joint general secretary at Jubo League’s Dhaka north unit.
Rajib, councillor of ward-33, which covers part of Mohammadpur area, was expelled for breaching organisation’s discipline, sources at Jubo League told The Daily Star.

Following the arrest, Rab members raided Rajib’s home in Mohammadpur.
