Physical punishment makes a child violent

My heart sinks whenever I read about corporal punishment given to children. There are many dangers of hitting our children. We cannot keep hitting our children and assume that they will not retaliate at some point in their life. Corporal punishment teaches our children to become violent. It teaches them that violence is the quick and easy solution to all problems.
Our society has so many faults that one wonders where to start rectifying them. Our violent culture brings no glory but only shame to the nation. Even in our university campuses violent culture prevails. I sometimes feel so frustrated because I see no light at the end of the tunnel.
