At least four people, including a journalist, were burnt in a firebomb attack on a bus at Banasree in Dhaka around 8:00pm this evening

Arefin Shakil, a reporter of Ekattor TV, suffered burn injuries when the bus he was travelling in came under the attack near E-block around 8:15pm, said a source at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The four injured -- Shakil and three other passengers -- were admitted to the DMCH.

Another 12 vehicles were torched by miscreants across the country on the first day of the fresh spell of 72-hour countrywide hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance today.

Miscreants torched two buses under the Jatrabari-Gulistan flyover, one at Rayerbagh, one near Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, one at Shakhari Bazar and a BRTC double-decker at Gabtoli in Dhaka, fire service officials said.

The alleged pickets set fire to a truck and a human haulier in Lakshmipur, an SUV in Chandpur, two buses in Rajshahi and one bus in Bogra.
