SSLCOMMERZ sign agreement with Union Pay International

An agreement has been signed between the largest payment gateway of Bangladesh SSLCOMMERZ and the leading global payment network UnionPay International. From now on UnionPay cardholders can pay digitally by scanning Bangla QR.

The agreement was signed at the Headquarter of SSLCOMMERZ on January 21. Top officials of both the organizations were present at the event.

Small, medium, and large entrepreneurs, restaurants, grocery shops, and other retailers from different verticals and end-users of different socio-economic classes can now avail the benefits of this advanced contactless payment method.

Bangla QR is the national QR for digital payments authorized by Bangladesh Bank. Customers can pay digitally by scanning the Bangla QR using the mobile payment applications provided by banks. As there is no cash or card exchanged during the payment process, it is considered as the most advanced contactless payment method which enables customers to stay safe during the pandemic.

SSLCOMMERZ has been a pioneer in providing services in Bangladesh's online payment and e-commerce industry for close to a decade, garnering a good reputation in providing singular online payment services to merchants.

UnionPay International is accelerating the rollout of its mobile payment products and services in Bangladesh, and became the first international card scheme to carry out businesses in QR code payment, virtual card issuance and e-wallet in Bangladesh.

SSLCOMMERZ platform is PCI DSS certified and licensed as a Payment System Operator (PSO) from Bangladesh Bank. PCI DSS is a globally recognized compliance certification of data security for banks and financial institutions which enables the service providers to strengthen online payment security while collecting, processing, and storing customers' card information.
