Major General Mohammad Ayub Chowdhury, director general of the department of immigration and passport (DIP), called on officials to make the passport services more dynamic.

He came up with the call during a coordination meeting with DIP and e-passport officials at the Passport Personalization Complex in Uttara today.

The virtual meeting was chaired by the DG and attended by DIP officers in Dhaka, all divisional heads and RPO heads.

The DG formed several sub-committees to make the quality of service more dynamic.

"We will be able to completely replace the MRP by e-passport within the stipulated time," he said. At present, they have the capacity to issue 6,000 passports every day.

He also said that the speed of service will increase.

E-Passport Project Director Brigadier General Saidur Rahman Khan said they are going through a situation where every day is a challenge. "We are continuously working to provide the highest level of service to passport seekers."

The DG then conferred the Crest of Integrity on a director, a deputy director and a superintendent of DIP.
