Midday Brief, Friday, September 28, 2018

In this photo: This beach in Sitakunda known as Guliakhali has an added feature to its scenic beauty. Behind a long swathe of the sandy beach lies a rugged terrain blanketed with a layer of lush green. Shallow streams flow between the small mounds. From above it looks like a carefully tended garden maze. What makes it more attractive are the aerial roots growing in the passages. With keora trees lining the shore, this is apparently a meeting place of a beach and a mangrove forest. The photo was taken on World Tourism Day. Photo: Rajib Raihan
