M Hamid, an eminent cultural personality, took charge of the post of managing director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation on October 11, says a press release.
Hamid, a freedom fighter, joined as a producer at the Bangladesh Television in 1980 and the BNP government sent him into forced retirement in 2006.
