Blockade in hills today

United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) yesterday called a two-day road, waterways blockade programme across the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) region from today.
The anti-CHT peace treaty organisation called the programme to press its demand for repealing the 15th amendment of the Constitution and giving constitutional recognition to the ethnic minorities.
Earlier, UPDF staged demonstrations, organised human chains and protest rallies at different upazila headquarters in the three hill districts.
UPDF Khagrachhari unit Press Secretary Niran Chakma, in a press release, sought cooperation from all to make the blockade a success.
