Shamsun Nahar passes away

Shamsun Nahar Islam, former headmistress of Dhaka's Quamrunnessa Government Girls' High School, died on Tuesday at the age of 83.
She is survived by one son, three daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
Nahar was the eldest daughter of late Abdul Hamid Bhuiyan of Brahmanbaria. As the first female graduate of Brahmanbaria District, she earned BA degree from Lady Braborne College of Calcutta in 1946 and later BT degree from Dhaka University.
