Road crashes kill 5
Five people were killed and a 12-day-old baby was injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and on Wednesday.
In Munshiganj, a woman was killed and her 12-day-old baby severely injured when a bus hit them in Bashia Bus Stand area of Gazaria upazila yesterday.
The deceased Asma Begam, 24, of Boro Bowshia area was going to a heath complex with the baby.
Police said they seized the bus but could not arrest the driver yet.
In Bagerhat, a five-year-old girl was killed when a three-wheeler ran her over as she slipped down under the wheels of the vehicle accidentally while trying to get down from it in Taltola area of Sharankhola upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was Nishimoni, daughter of Jakir Gazi of Dakhin Amragachi village.
In Dinajpur, two people were killed when a rickshaw-van and a tractor collided head-on on Dinajpur-Bochaganj road in Bochaganj upazila yesterday.
The deceased were Uzir Ali, 28, of Porapukur and Swapan Shah, 32, of Bokultola.
In Mymensingh, an elderly woman was killed as she was run over by a bus while crossing the Mymensingh-Haluaghat road in Alalpur area in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Phuljaan Bibi, 66, of Alalpur area.
