Trader robbed of Tk 3 lakh in Ctg

Snatchers took away Tk 3 lakh from a trader of Khatungonj in Chittagong yesterday, just a day after another trader was robbed of Tk 5 lakh in Colonel Hat area.
Locals caught one of the muggers, Mrinal Das, 50, after he and his three accomplices intercepted Shyamal Dutta, 44, proprietor of Sonali Traders, and snatched a bag containing Tk 3 lakh from him in Boxirbit area at around 2:15pm, sources said.
When Shyamal raised an alarm, locals chased the muggers and caught and beat Mrinal, but three others managed to escape with the money.
A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station.
On Wednesday, snatchers took away Tk 5 lakh from a grocer after stabbing him and another trader in Colonel Hat area.
