BFUJ faction demands 9th wage board for journos
A faction of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) yesterday demanded immediate formation of the 9th wage board for enhancement of salaries for journalists and employees of the newspaper industry.
The government should take immediate steps for announcing the ninth wage board, leaders told the executive committee meeting of the BFUJ faction at Jatiya Press Club, said a press release.
The meeting was chaired by acting president of the faction Jafar Wazed and conducted by its secretary general Omar Faruk.
The BFUJ faction also demanded that the media owners give the government-declared allowances for Bangla New Year before Pahela Baishakh. They also demanded a separate wage board for electronic media and trial of the killings of all journalists including couple Sagor Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
Former president of the BFUJ faction Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul demanded security for journalists.
