Obituary

Mahbubur Rahman, a retired government official, died of old age complications in a Dhaka hospital on Tuesday, aged 85.
He left behind two sons, and three daughters, says a press release. His youngest son M Shamsur Rahman is the editor of The Independent, also editor-in-chief and CEO of Independent Television. Rahman was buried yesterday at his village home in Chatkhil of Noakhali.
