Earth Foundation Chairman Khan Mohammad Khalid Hossain, who was arrested a year ago on charges of swindling people and organisations out of Tk 100 crore, was released on bail yesterday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG-Prisons) Maj Shamsul Haider Siddique told The Daily Star, "Khalid Hossain was released from Dhaka Central Jail at around 5:00pm."
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested Khalid at Panthapath on November 3 last year after Shameem Enterprise, a printing company, filed a case against him with Dhanmondi police.
Rab-2 officials said over 30 cases were filed against Khalid on charges of swindling many people and organizations out of Tk 100 crore.
