Stocks fall for third day 

The DSEX lost 10.08 points to close at 4,746.42

The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange lost 10.08 points today, extending their losing run for the third consecutive session. 

Earlier, the DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 12.38 points, or 0.26 percent, to 4,758.80 as of 11:18 am.

But the positive momentum did not sustain, and the index closed the session down 10.08 points, or 0.21 percent, to 4,736.33.

The Shariah-compliant DSES index declined 0.45 percent to 1,032.55, while the DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, dropped 0.38 percent to 1,746.53.

Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, declined 15 percent to Tk 235.51 crore, compared to the previous session. 

 Of the issues traded, 100 advanced, 215 declined, and 81 remained unchanged. 

Energypac Power Generation posted the highest gain, rising 9 percent, while Information Services Network posted the biggest loss, dropping 7 percent.
