The Supreme Court yesterday scrapped a High Court verdict that cleared the way for running the trial proceedings against former housing and public works minister Mirza Abbas in a corruption case filed on charge of causing Tk 15.52 crore loss to the state by allocating plots to journalists.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury gave the order.

ACC filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station in March 2014, against Abbas and four others on charges of allocating Rajuk's land to a journalists' cooperative society, at a lower rate.
