What will Brazil look like under Ancelotti?

In a move that has already stirred anticipation among fans and pundits alike, Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to officially assume charge of Brazil on May 26, has begun laying the foundation for his Canarinha project by making decisive early selections — most notably, calling up Neymar despite the star forward's prolonged absence due to injury.
According to Globo Esporte, the Santos icon has been included in Brazil's preliminary squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, even though he has not featured for club or country since suffering a fresh injury on April 16 against Atlético Mineiro.
Brazil are set to face Ecuador on June 5 in Guayaquil and will host Paraguay on June 10, as Ancelotti aims to kick off his tenure on a high note. The matches will serve as the first test under the Italian tactician, who has opted to hold off on releasing an official squad list until final decisions are made.
In a shift from recent transparency, around 50 players have been named internally, but Ancelotti is reportedly waiting to assess form and fitness before confirming the final call-ups. The first training session under the current Real Madrid boss is slated for June 2.
Among the early names in the extended list are six Flamengo players — Danilo, Wesley, Leo Ortiz, Alex Sandro, Gerson, and Pedro — signalling a continued reliance on domestic talent. Also under consideration are Oscar, Fabrício Bruno, and Hugo Souza.
However, perhaps the most eye-catching inclusion is that of Igor Paixão. The 24-year-old forward from Dutch club Feyenoord has enjoyed a sensational season, registering 18 goals and 14 assists. If selected, it will mark Paixão's first appearance in Brazil colours — a dream opportunity for a player who has rapidly risen in European football.
As the countdown to Ancelotti's era begins, all eyes will be on how the seasoned manager balances experience with emerging talent in his quest to restore Brazil's global dominance.
