Man arrested on charge of killing wife in Munshiganj

A man was arrested on charge of hacking his wife to death during a family dispute in Munshiganj's Sadar upazila last night.

The incident took place in front of their neighbour house of Babul Molla, a neighbour of the couple, in Dewankandi village of the upazila around 9:30pm.

The victim was identified as Selina Begum, 35, said Munshiganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Alam.

A press release issued by police today said law enforcers, on information, went recovered the body, and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy.

A drive was launched in the surrounding area to arrest Selina's husband, Sujan Molla, the press release today.

Sujan, 43, was later arrested from the Dighirpar area around 1:30am.

The OC said, "During investigation, Sujan said he himself drank pesticide before hacking his wife to death due to a family dispute and tried to escape. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at Munshiganj General Hospital under police custody."
