Hasnat announces fresh programmes in the capital today

Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser (southern region) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced mass gatherings today, demanding a ban on the Awami League and its associate organisations.
The fresh programme will be held across the country at all points of July uprising spots, where people protested last July demanding the resignation of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
The programme will be held centrally at the Shabagh intersection at around 3:00pm today.
The announcement came during an ongoing protest programme at Shahbagh programme at around 11:00pm.
Hasnat called on the all victims who were tortured and forcibly disappeared during the last 15 and half years of Awami League regime. He also urged the families of victims who were killed during this time to join the protests.
Hasnat said, "We are announcing a mass gathering for tomorrow around at 3:00pm in Shahbagh. This gathering will be held with the participation of everyone. It will take place at every point in the country where blockades were carried out during the July uprising."
Mentioning three demands, Hasnat said, "The movement will continue until the Awami League is banned. Our three demands are -- the July declaration must be issued, the Awami League must be declared a terrorist organisation and banned along with its affiliated bodies, and the Awami League must be banned as a party through the International Crimes Tribunal."
Akhtar Hossain, member secretary of National Citizen Party (NCP) and its chief organiser (northern region) Sarjis Alam were present among others. The protest, which began Thursday in front of the CA's residence, Jamuna, is currently ongoing at the Shahbagh intersection from last afternoon.
