Two killed in motorcycle accidents on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

Two people were killed in separate motorcycle accidents early today on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Sreenagar and Sirajdikhan areas of Munshiganj.

The deceased were identified as Alimul, 27, of Rangpur and Farukuzzaman, 59, said Abdul Kader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Hasara Highway Police Station.

In Sreenagar, the accident occurred around 3:00am in Hasara area when an unidentified truck hit a motorcycle from behind, killing Alimul on the spot.

His companion, Abdur Rahman, 17, was seriously injured and admitted to the upazila health complex, the OC said.

Meanwhile, around 9:00am, Farukuzzaman died when his motorcycle skidded off the road after hitting a roadside railing on the service lane of the expressway near Nimtala Railway Station in Sirajdikhan, the OC said quoting eye-witnesses.

Later, both the bodies have been handed over to their families, the OC added.
