Three police officers, including an officer-in-charge (OC), were injured in an attack inside Pallabi Police Station in Dhaka early today.

Law enforcement has detained four individuals in connection with the incident.

One of the detainees was identified Abdur Razzak Fahim.

The injured officers are OC Nazrul Islam, Second Officer Shariful Islam, and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Armed) Md Nasir.

According to the OC, Razzak entered the station shortly before 2:00am, claiming a murder had taken place in the area.

When police told him that there was no report of such incident, Razzak accused police of withholding information and insisted that the duty officer was aware of it.

After that, the OC took the man to the duty officer's room, where other visitors also said they had no knowledge of any such incident.

When asked to provide his identity, Razzak refused initially.

As the OC tried to escort him out, Abdur suddenly punched and struck him. ASI Nasir intervened but suffered a fractured finger. The assailant also punched Second Officer Shariful on the forehead before being restrained.

Upon detention, Razzak said that three other individuals were waiting outside in a vehicle.

Police brought them in for questioning, during which they claimed to have travelled from Gazipur and were out for a drive.

Following the attack, the injured officers sought medical attention at Kurmitola General Hospital.

A case is being prepared in this regard, the police officer said.

Further details of the incident could not be known immediately.
