Wings of Mexico: A place where everyone goes to take a photo

One of the most iconic places to capture a photo with Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building in the background, is the 'Wings of Mexico', situated at the heart of downtown Dubai.

The monument represents people's dream of flying freely with their own bodies relying on desire, belief and passion and the sculpture invites people to surpass their limits.

From celebrities to ordinary people, thousands of tourists from across the world visit the place every day, evident from the long queues in front of the sculpture.

According to locals, night times are less busy around this place, lending the whole place a majestic look.

After covering Bangladesh's first Champions Trophy Group A match against India on Thursday night, this reporter took out time to visit this iconic place.

Although it was already 10:00pm (local time), there were still 30-40 people there, waiting in line patiently to take photos in front of the sculpture.

"When I took the photo, I felt stronger and bigger. I like this building and it's an amazing building. This whole place is amazing," a tourist named Sebastian told The Daily Star when asked to share his experience.

The city of Dubai never sleeps. Most of its happening places remain open the entire night, catering to the demands of people coming from different continents, either just tourists or on a business trip. The Wings of Mexico also represents a symbol of the city as it never gets tired to see people taking photos in front of it.

Another perk of visiting this place is that it comes with no cost – no tickets needed at all.
