Case filed over rape of girl in Sherpur

A case was filed against four people today in connection with the rape of a ninth grader in Sherpur's Jhenaigati upazila on February 14.
The victim's uncle filed the case with Jhenaigati Police Station, said OC Md Al Amin.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The accused are Md Elias, 35, Abu Sayeed, 24, Rashed, 25, Matin, 25.
No arrests were made till the filing of this report.
Quoting case statement, the OC said the 14-year-old girl, a madrasa student, went to visit a park in Jhenaigati with three of her friends on February 14. Finding her alone, Elias and the other accused took her to a nearby place and raped her.
She was later rescued by her friends and locals.
Drives are on to arrest the accused, said police.
