Beximco’s profit declines nearly 20% in October-December

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd (Beximco) reported a nearly 20 per cent decrease in profit in the October-December quarter of the current financial year.

The industrial behemoth made a profit of Tk 322.54 crore in the first quarter of 2022-23, down from Tk 398.69 crore in the identical quarter of 2021-22.

The earnings per share were Tk 3.6 in October-December of FY23 against Tk 4.45 in the same quarter of 2021-22, according to the unaudited financial statements. 

The profit also declined in the first half of the current financial year.

The profit stood at Tk 658.52 crore in July-December of FY23. It was Tk 759.75 crore in the same half of FY22.

Thus, Beximco reported an EPS of Tk 7.35 for July-December compared to Tk 8.48 in the first half of FY22.
