4 men rape woman in front of husband, son in Bagerhat

Four unidentified men raped a woman after tying up her husband and son in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat early today.

They also looted two tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 5,500 and a mobile phone, our local correspondent reports quoting the victim's husband.

The victim was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for the medical examination this afternoon, said Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Morrelganj Police Station.

"Four unidentified persons stormed into our house at the dead of night, blindfolded and tied all of us. Later they raped my wife. They also took away our valuables. They held sharp weapons in their hands," said the victim's husband.

"I want a fair trial for the incident," he also said.

Local union parishad member Md Sohail Rana Kamal also appealed to the police and administration to identify the culprits as soon as possible and bring them under the law.

Police visited the house after hearing about the incident.

Preparation is underway to file a case in this connection and police are on to identify the criminals, said OC Iqbal.
