4 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, current positivity rate 1.32%

Four people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,926 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 234 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,72,735, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.32 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.82 percent.

A total of 17,700 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 229 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,36,744 and the recovery rate at 97.71 percent.

All the four deceased were men.

Of them, one was between 41-50 years old, two were within 51-60, and one was between 71-80 years old, added the release.
