Bashar's mother passes away

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selector Habibul Bashar's mother, Rizia Begum, breathed her last at the age of 72 at her hometown Kushtia at around 1:30pm today.

Rizia, mother of six sons and two daughters, has been suffering from a prolonged illness.

"My mother has been sick and bedridden for a while. But her condition worsened in the last few days. That is why I went to visit her few days back. But I still can not believe that she left us. I got the news today at around 1:30pm," informed Bashar to The Daily Star.

Former national skipper Bashar returned to Dhaka on March 22 after visiting his mother. It was learned that the deceased's namaj-e-janaza will be held after Maghrib prayers before her burial at the municipilaty graveyard in Kushtia. However, Bashar might not be able to attend his mother's namaj-e-janaza due to current travel restrictions in the country for coronavirus.
