Bangladesh women's side beat Pakistan by five runs in their World Cup warm-up match at Brisbane today. The earlier warm-up match against Thailand on February 16th was abandoned due to rain. The win will give them the required boost as they gear up for their first T20 World Cup match against India on February 24th.

The wicket at Brisbane was on the slower side and Bangladesh managed just 111 for eight in their 20 overs. Murshida Khatun's 38-ball 43 struck a team-high 38-ball 43 before she departed to a run out in the 14th over. Fargana Haque's 21 off 31 deliveries was the other notable contribution.

Following the exchange, the Tigresses picked up wickets at regular intervals. Salma Khatun bagged two early wickets. Javeria Khan's 34-ball 41 took Pakistan close but Khadija Tul Kubra's double strike in the 16th over to pick up Javeria and Sidra Nawaz's wicket saw Bangladesh put the squeeze on Pakistan's run-making.

10 runs were needed off the last over bowled by Jahanara Alam and she picked up two wickets in the final over and conceded just four to finish with overall figures of four for 22. Kubra bagged three for 11 runs.
