The selectors rang in the changes when they announced a 14-man Bangladesh Test squad for the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, with star opener Tamim Iqbal returning and Mustafizur Rahman being the notable name among six players excluded from the squad that toured India in November last year.

Mominulaque, who captained on the tour of India, has been retained as skipper.

Mushfiqur Rahim is also not part of the squad, having opted out of touring Pakistan because of security reasons. The four other excluded players -- Imrul kayes, Mosaddek Hossain, Shadman Islam and Mehedi Hasan Miraz -- are all recovering from injuries suffered during the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League. Mustafizur was part of the squad that toured India for two Tests, but he was not picked in the eleven for either match.  Apart from Tamim, opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto, batsman Soumya Sarkar and pacer Rubel Hossain also returned to the squad.

Tamim, Bangladesh's highest Test run-scorer, had opted out of the tour of India for personal reasons.

Mosaddek sustained a shoulder injury while playing for Sylhet Thunder, Imrul is currently recovering from a groin injury while Mehedi injured his finger and is currently unable to bowl.
