Colindres drives Kings to Fed Cup title

Daniel Colindres scored twice as Bashundhara Kings clinched the title of the Federation Cup for the first time following a 2-1 win over Rahmatganj MFS in the final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.

The Costa Rican forward headed the Bangladesh premier League champions ahead in the 41st minute but Rahmatganj, who were playing the final of any top-flight tournament for the first time, hit back through a header from Mamodou Bah in the 63rd minute.

Colindres then gave Bashundhara Kings the lead again 13 minutes later, taking advantage of a massive howler from Rahmatganj goalkeeper Rasel Mahmud Liton.

In winning the title of the Federation Cup, Bashundhara Kings became the seventh team to win the title of season's curtain-raising tournament in its 31 editions.
