Woman killed in train accident in Khulna

A woman, aged around 50, was killed when a train hit her at Nayabati area in Khulna city yesterday.

The deceased could not be identified.

Chapainawabganj-bound Mahananda Express hit her while she was crossing the tracks at an undesignated spot, killing her instantly.

On information, Government Railway Police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Ashim Kumar Das, assistant SI of Khulna Railway Police Station, confirmed the matter.

Waking across rail lines at that area is illegal, and accidents often occur there, he added.
