Fire at Cumilla EPZ factory brought under control

A fire that broke out at a factory inside the Cumilla Economic Processing Zone (EPZ) was brought under control after four hours of frantic efforts.

The fire originated at Etasia Interlinings (BD) Limited Factory around 7:30am, our Cumilla correspondent reports quoting Alamgir Hossain, in-charge of Cumilla Fire Service and Civil Defence.

On information, eight firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 10:45am, the official said.

All the workers of the factories were evacuated safely.

A staff of the factory, wishing anonymity, said the fire broke out on the first floor of a four-storey factory building. But reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
