4 Indian nationals among 6 held with arms in Brahmanbaria

Police detained six people including four Indian nationals along with firearms from a hotel in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria today.

The detainees are four Indian citizens -- Swarnajeet Debnath, 23, Nirmalendu Chowdhury, 32, Shankar Sarker, 31, and Bimol Das, -- and two Bangladeshi nationals -- Amjad Hossain Shawon, 22, and Hasibul Hasan Anik, 19.

Tipped off, a police team raided at Alif Hotel and Restaurant in Maa plaza at Kuti bazar around 2:30pm and detained the six people, said Abdul Karim, senior assistant superintendent of police (Kasba Circle).   

The law enforcers also seized a revolver, four rounds of bullets, two pipe guns, two walkie-talkie, four mobile phone set and motorcycle parts from the spot.
