Arifin Shuvoo as Apu

Kolkata based director, Subhrajit Mitra is adapting the last 100 pages of the novel Aparajito into a movie. The film is titled, Abhijatrik – The Wanderlust of Apu and will portray India's heritage and prosperity during the 80's. Arifin Shuvoo is set to play the character of Apu. The film is presented by renowned producer, Madhur Bhandarkar and produced by Gourongo Films. The shooting is expected to take place in various locations all over India. The novels Pather Panchali and Aparijoto, by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay were made into a trilogy – Pather Panchali, Aparajito and Apur Songshar by Satyajit Ray, who also introduced Apu to the silver screen. Arifin is also preparing to shoot for the new action thriller, Mission Extreme. He is finishing shooting for Golam Sohrab Dodul's new film, Shaaapludo. Bidya Sinha Saha Mim will star alongside him in the film. Arifin is also currently shooting for the film, Jam with Purnima as his co-star.
