BRTA mobile courts file 53 cases against vehicles, Tk 78,900 fined

Three mobile courts of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) of Chattogram in separate drives filed 53 cases against vehicles, and fined Tk 78,900 for violating traffic rules yesterday.

Apart from that, the mobile courts also seized documents of six vehicles during the drive.

The three mobile courts were headed by three executive magistrates of BRTA in port city's Kotwali, Prabartak, and Holy Crescent Hospital area on Jakir Hossain Road, said BRTA sources.

BRTA court-11 filed 16 cases, with Tk 30,200 fined during the drive at Holy Crescent Hospital, said the officials.

Court-12 in city's Prabartak area lodged 11 cases against vehicles and collected Tk 16700 as fine, while 26 cases were registered and Tk 32000 was fined during Court -13's drive in Kotwali area, said the sources.

BRTA mobile courts have been conducting drives across the port city and district to bring order on the streets after the students' movement in August last year.
