15 fishermen return from Indian jail

Fifteen fishermen returned home yesterday after serving two months in an Indian jail.

Indian Immigration Police handed over them to their counterparts at Benapole check-post.

The returnees hail from Taherpur village in Mahipur upazila of Patuakhali.

Benapole Immigration Police Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar said Indian coastguard detained them when they mistakenly entered the Indian maritime boundary two months ago.

They were released on expiry of their jail terms, said Amjad Hossain, BGB camp commander at Benapole check-post.
