'Man' strangles wife in Ashulia

A woman was strangled, allegedly by her husband, over family feud in Ashulia near the capital early yesterday.

Neighbours found the body of Shyamoli Khatun, a garment worker, lying on bed in her house in Baroipara area, said police.

The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for autopsy, said Ashulia Police Station Sub-Inspector Nahid Hassan.

Her husband Sirajul Islam, a workshop worker, has been on the run since the incident, said the SI. Sirajul used to torture Shyamoli often, the police officer quoted the neighbours as saying.
