UK Swechchasebok Dal president fined by London court

A London court fined UK Swechchasebok Dal President Nasir Ahmed Shaheen for his involvement in attacking the Bangladesh High Commission in London in February this year, said a press statement of the Prime Minister's Office yesterday.

The verdict came after it was proved that Shaheen was involved in vandalising the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and stealing valuables.

The trial of BNP's UK unit President MA Malek, another accused in the case, will take place on November 8.

On February 7, leaders and activists of BNP attacked the Bangladesh High Commission in London ahead of a verdict in a graft case against Khaleda Zia.
