Fake Rab man held in Dinajpur

A man posing as a member of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) was arrested by the elite force from Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The arrestee is Md Rabiul Islam, 37, son of late Khalilur Rahman, of Shabdalpur village in Birganj upazila.

Acting on information, a team of Rab 13 in the district raided M Abdur Rahim Medical College area in the town and arrested Rabiul while he was cheating people by identifying himself as a Rab member.

They also seized a mobile phone, a fake ID card and a memory card from him.

The elite force members handed Rabiul over to Sadar Police Station after filing a case, said Redwanur Rahim, officer-in-charge of the police station.
